Why races settle on size 2
Size 2 — 38 mm on 0.90 mm wire — is the balance races everywhere land on. Long enough to pass through the bib and two layers of technical fabric and still close comfortably, short enough that no spare point swings against the runner. Size 1 (32 mm) struggles with thicker fabric and works loose; size 3 (46 mm) leaves a bigger hole and lets the bib flap.
Getting stock in before bib pickup
Bibs usually go out one or two days before race day, and pins are the last thing anyone remembers. Order at least a week ahead — large quantities may wait on a production run — and add ten percent for pins lost while stuffing race packs and runners asking at the desk. For an annual event, buy ahead: pins do not expire and keep for years in a dry place.
